Pig asks, “Why is it Good Friday when JESUS dies?”

  • Apr 2
  • 11 min read

Good Morning.

Pig that is a good question.

As Pig is already at the table with her flap jacks.

Syrup and butter and milk.

I begin explaining that

No one is happy when people die.

It is a sad time.

We miss them in our life.

BUT JESUS was not just a people.

HE is GOD and man.

HE was born SINLESS.

REMEMBER

The CHRISTMAS STORY.

HE was born to die for the sins of THE WORLD.

Mary knew of the birth announcement by Gabriel

The Angel.

Luke 1:26-38

The Birth of Jesus Is Announced

26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy God sent the angel Gabriel to a town in Galilee named Nazareth. 27 He had a message for a young woman promised in marriage to a man named Joseph, who was a descendant of King David. Her name was Mary. 28 The angel came to her and said, “Peace be with you! The Lord is with you and has greatly blessed you!”

29 Mary was deeply troubled by the angel's message, and she wondered what his words meant. 30 The angel said to her, “Don't be afraid, Mary; God has been gracious to you. 31 You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king, as his ancestor David was, 33 and he will be the king of the descendants of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end!”

34 Mary said to the angel, “I am a virgin. How, then, can this be?”

35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and God's power will rest upon you. For this reason the holy child will be called the Son of God. 36 Remember your relative Elizabeth. It is said that she cannot have children, but she herself is now six months pregnant, even though she is very old. 37 For there is nothing that God cannot do.”

38 “I am the Lord's servant,” said Mary; “may it happen to me as you have said.” And the angel left her.

This is a prophecy for filled by the Prophet Isaiah

Over 700 years spoken and written.

Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel

 King James Bible

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Pig asks, How does HE forgive the

SINS of THE WORLD?

PAST

PRESENT

AND

FUTURE?

I will tell you a story Pig.

But there are over one hundred entries in

The Bible to look up .

Use your Google fingers.

That says THE MESSIAH came to forgive you of

ALL your SINS.

That HE would become the perfect Passover lamb.

HIS Sacrifice of HIMSELF on THE CROSS would be finished for all sacrifices that was completed when JESUS WAS GIVEN AS THE PASSOVER LAMB.

Annually on Passover the sacrifices only covered your sins not remove them.

HE would be the lamb without blemish to forgive ALL SINS.

Past

Present

And

Future.

Even now you

Only to have to accept HIS FORGIVENESS

BELIEVE that HE CAME

BELIEVE HE IS THE MESSIAH and Your LORD and SAVIOR .

Just like the week before on PALM SUNDAY.

Save now the people cried .

HOSANA, HOSANA .

They knew HE CAME TO SAVE THEM FROM THIER SINS.

TO RESCUE THEM .

Even though they didn’t understand it all other Than

JESUS was Their MESSIAH.

Remember the story Pig?

Yes, Pig said. as she listened to what I would say next.

I continued as I read :

To know that JESUS has the power to forgive SINS.

Matthew 9

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man

Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”

At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”

Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.”So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.

I understand, Pig said .

Do you remember how the religious leaders after Palm Sunday decided to kill JESUS?

Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

John 11:49-52

But one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all! / You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.” / Caiaphas did not say this on his own. Instead, as high priest that year, he was prophesying that Jesus would die for the nation, ...

Matthew 26:3-5

At that time the chief priests and elders of the people assembled in the courtyard of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and they conspired to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him. “But not during the feast,” they said, “or there may be a riot among the people.”

Mark 14:1-2

Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were two days away, and the chief priests and scribes were looking for a covert way to arrest Jesus and kill Him. “But not during the feast,” they said, “or there may be a riot among the people.”

Luke 22:2

and the chief priests and scribes were looking for a way to put Jesus to death, for they feared the people.

John 11:47-48

Then the chief priests and Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin and said, “What are we to do? This man is performing many signs. If we let Him go on like this, everyone will believe in Him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

Acts 4:6

along with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and many others from the high priest’s family.

John 7:30

So they tried to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

John 7:45-53

Then the officers returned to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?” “Never has anyone spoken like this man!” the officers answered. “Have you also been deceived?” replied the Pharisees. ...

John 12:10-11

So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well, / for on account of him many of the Jews were deserting them and believing in Jesus.

John 19:11

Jesus answered, “You would have no authority over Me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed Me over to you is guilty of greater sin.”

John 3:14-15

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, / that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.

John 5:18

Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

John 7:1

After this, Jesus traveled throughout Galilee. He did not want to travel in Judea, because the Jews there were trying to kill Him.

John 10:39

At this, they tried again to seize Him, but He escaped their grasp.

John 11:53

So from that day on they plotted to kill Him.

The Jewish leaders were concerned about maintaining their authority and avoiding Roman intervention. Caiaphas' counsel was given during a meeting of the Sanhedrin, where they discussed how to handle the growing influence of Jesus, whose teachings and miracles were attracting large crowds and causing unrest.

that it would be better if one man died for the peopleThis statement is a reference where he suggested that Jesus' death would prevent the destruction of the nation by the Romans.

His words carried a deeper, divine truth.

This statement becomes the death of Jesus, who, as the Lamb of God, would die for the sins of humanity.

This lines up with the Old Testament sacrificial system, where one sacrifice could atone for the sins of many, and it fulfills prophecies such as Isaiah 53, which speaks of a suffering servant who would bear the iniquities of others.

The high priest during the time of Jesus' trial. He played a significant role in the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus. Caiaphas was a member of the Sadducees, a sect known for its collaboration with Roman authorities and its denial of the resurrection.

The Jewish leaders and authorities who were involved in the decision-making process regarding Jesus' fate. This group included the Sanhedrin, the ruling council of Jewish leaders.

Caiaphas advised that it was expedient for one man (Jesus) to die for the people, suggesting a political and religious expediency to prevent Roman intervention and potential destruction of the nation.

This verse is part of the account leading to the arrest and trial of Jesus, highlighting the political and religious tensions of the time.

This statement by Caiaphas is a fulfillment of prophecy and setting the stage for the crucifixion of Jesus.

God's Sovereignty in it all

GOD is always in control.

Despite Caiaphas' intentions,

God used his advice to fulfill His divine plan of salvation. This reminds us that God can work through even the most unlikely circumstances

To have HIS WILL TO BE DONE.

Prophecy and Fulfillment

Caiaphas' statement, though politically motivated, aligns with the prophetic tradition of the Old Testament.

Reading the BIBLE is needed to the understanding how Jesus' life and death fulfill biblical prophecy.

To know

The Sacrificial Love of Christ

Jesus' willingness to die for the people, as prophesied by Caiaphas.

JESUS act of love and sacrifice for us all

This calls to us to consider Christ's love and our response to it

Caiaphas offered deliberate counsel, not a passing comment (John 11:49-50).

His advice sprang from fear of losing position and national stability (John 11:48),

Noting how human schemes can still serve God’s sovereign plan (Acts 2:23).

Though motivated by self-interest, his words were prophetic truth, similar to Balaam’s unintended blessing (Numbers 24:17).

I love the story of Balaam because the donkey talked.

Pig said, I like that story too.

And GOD only let Balaam Bless the children of Israel.

Even though later the people of GOD went astray to idol worshiping because of marrying idol worshippers .

Careful with choosing husbands and wife’s

Even friends to keep on track and faithful to GOD.

To stay pleasing and ready for JESUS RETURN.

Pig said, AMEN

The leaders were entrusted to shepherd Israel (Ezekiel 34:2-4), instead conspired to kill the true Shepherd (John 10:11).

Their plotting fulfills Psalm 2:2: “The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against His Anointed.”

argues to preserve the nation by sacrificing one man (John 11:50).

The amazing story with The Plan from the beginning of time to rescue us.

God turns Caiaphas’s plan into good, echoing Joseph’s words: “You meant evil against me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20).

So if one man died

The “one man” is Jesus, the spotless Lamb (John 1:29).

• His singular death fulfills Isaiah 53:5: “He was pierced for our transgressions.”

“Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous” (1 Peter 3:18).

for the people

Caiaphas limits his concern to the nation, but God’s purpose is wider: “He would die for the nation, and not only for the nation, but also to gather into one the children of God scattered abroad”

Jesus’ atonement extends beyond Israel to the world (1 John 2:2; Hebrews 2:9).

Romans 5:8 “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

GOD orchestrated their words and deeds to accomplish SALVATION for us ALL.

Pig EVEN NOW

ALL who believe that JESUS DIED and Rose again from the dead will be SAVED ..

Which is THE EASTER STORY.

They WILL be

FORGIVEN of ALL their SINS.

By saying YES TO JESUS.

Pig responded,

I have said YES to JESUS.

Then Pig

All is well for you..

The question is answered :

WHY IS IT GOOD FRIDAY?

Because JESUS LOVED US SO MUCH.

HE DIED FOR US .

Taking on the SINS OF THE WORLD upon HIMSELF.

Taking on the betrayal of his disciple and the pain to

HIS BODY , Mind and SOUL AND SPIRIT and EXPERIENCE the

SUFFERING that no one can even understand.

Pig I want to say what we can only imagine it would be like for the first time being separated from HIS

DAD.

HIS FATHER.

The agony of separation

To feel alone.

As soon as the six hours hanging on the cross from 9:00 -3:00 suffering even to breathe,

Even on the cross HE was NOT finished WORKING FIRST

not leaving without inviting the man next to him to be with him in paradise.

JESUS making sure HIS Earthly Mother

Mary was provided for.

THEN forgiving ALL who placed HIM on the cross

Saying forgive them FATHER as HE PRAYED THAT OUT LOUD

THEY KNOW NOT What they DO.

HE SAID

IT IS FINISHED .

AND HE GAVE UP HIS SPIRIT TO DEATH.

That is GOOD FRIDAY.

Pig we are GRATEFUL .

We are BLESSED.

We have the way to our heavenly home now

Because of this one AMAZING act of LOVE for us

By JESUS OUR SAVIOR AND LORD.

We are sad Pig that HE suffered and died for us.

However there was no OTHER WAY to get us to heaven with HIM.

So every day we pray.

Give Thanks and again

And again to Thank you

Our

Blessed LORD and Savior.

Pig, HE LIVED TO SHOW US THE WAY TO LIVE.

HE LOVED US SO MUCH TO RESCUE US FROM SIN

AND DEATH

AND

TO LIVE IN HEAVEN WITH HIM

FOREVER.

WHY?

Because HE LOVES US.

That’s why we say it’s GOOD FRIDAY.

And now we wait for RESURRECTION DAY.

That we call EASTER.

We REJOICE

And

WE CELEBRATE.

Another Story to write the JOY OF EASTER.

I will post on Saturday ..

Our story for today ..

There is so much more that could be said.

The betrayal

The Passover

The time spent together with HIS disciples.

The trial and more.

But it is a place to start reading or at least watch

The movies to really walk back in time to see it

On screen.

King of Kings Movie

JESUS of Nazareth Movie
