Good Morning

This is a new day a new beginning. Fresh Pancakes are made daily.

Everthing you said or did yesterday Is done.

Pig and I have Prayed,

asked to be in right standing with GOD.

To pray for Peace in our lives and with others as we Prayed for the Peace to Israel and in America on T.V.

We Prayed for protection for the leaders and all of us in the Nations seeking Peace .

Praying for the others to find Peace too.

Which is JESUS

There is no true Peace without Him.

There is a song called Day is done, Day is done.

After you have done everything you can do

Stand and watch the Miracles of GOD.

1 Samuel  12:16

Sometimes that can be a relief and sometimes a longing to have it last longer.

Pig said like a Birthday Party or a trip to Knotts Berry Farm

Yes, Pig like that.

To know each day is the day you have been given for that moment in time.

This is your today to rejoice and be glad in it.

This is why those of faith or have a happy attitude would say or those that have seen a lot of troubles have learned to be grateful along the way.

Hopefuly they found GOD who made them before the day of life is done.

This is The day that THE LORD has made.

I will rejoice and be glad in it.

When the day begins and when the day is done. This statement covers a lifetime.

Pig and I start out with Pancakes and Prayer. Granny started her day with her black coffee and with a cigarerette. Pig said your Granny smoked? My Daddy Dean did too.

No. In a long breath. Pig said. Yep, that was my Granny, I said.

Pig you have to understand. It was quite the thing to do with all the commercials about every 15 minutes and in all the movies. All kinds of brands of cigarettes with constant commercials and beer commercials too. With fun songs to sing with them we seemed to be memorized.

The Hollywood industry made them so popular and so fashionable to smoke.

Beauty for Women and Manly for men to smoke.

No one said it was bad, until they gave warnings on the packages it may cause Cancer.

The cigerettes were addicting and hard to stop. Granny never stopped even though she tried. My Daddy couldnt stop either. No one is Perfect only JESUS. We Thank Him for His mercy and helping us through our decisions.

Granny said, we have to be careful with our decisions.

It is hard not to follow trends and fashion and foods. But we need to think for ourselves.

As she would make some Oatmeal for us and share her stories as we were a captive audiance.

Sorry to say Pig,

Granny ate bacon too. She would crumble it up and put in her oatmeal. Now, they top maple bars donuts like that.

Pig said, I have no comment to those scary stories as she turned her nose up at me and then

Turned her head slightly as she was still listening to my story .

Granny and Mother would make eating oatmeal fun.

It was good for you and both Granny and Mother would set up the small fold up table with four little chairs. We got that table and chairs by licking a lot of blue chip and green chip stamps in little books. You got so many stamps with each purchase when you bought at the store or gas stations.

When had so many books saved up, you could go to a remption center and buy things you needed with your little books.

The little table was our blue chip purchase and was set with our dolls at each side of us with my sister and me. We had doll dishes and cups. Mother would fill up the cups with raisens and can peaces and sliced bananas.

She gave us a real bowl for our warm oatmeal and a little brown sugar on top.

She filled our doll pitchers with milk and with our cloth napkins for all of us with and toast and real butter and jelly. The dolls had toast and Jelly because it was easier to eat we would say as we pretended they could eat too.

This kind of breakfast with our babies, would be on the weekends so no rushing to eat and leave for school.

We would get to go to the movies at the Huntridge Theatre to watch movies for 50c.

Mother would give us purses to put our candy in and a hamburger from the A&W rootbeer stand across the street. We would buy popcorn and a drink at the movies and made a day of it with a double feature. Fun day for us all, as Granny and Mother would go shopping and pick us up later.

Those were the days of fun moments to fall back on to remember. As there is always something around the corner to rob your Joy.

But Singing was what brought our joy in our lives, whether singing in the car or outside or with the player piano.

We were a singing family and because we had a player piano, Daddy as well love it. We would all sing and it made the house happy.

Later, my Daddy got emphysema heart problems and kidney problems and died at 45 years old. He was a Navy man with two purple hearts and a bunch of metal that were kept in a closet never discussed with me as I was still a child.

Shock after shock would come to our whole family to my Older sister Sheila at 21 and her baby named Vincent 6 months old. He later became like a baby brother for a while lived with us, who was in a car accident too. Mother became revived by her life to have some hope with a new baby in the house.

Remember my sister was a passenger and was left parilized for the rest of her life. So don't ever say what you do or say will never effect anyone else only you. IT'S A LIE. I will share her story another day that turned out victoriously.

Later as a teenager to bring comfort to me over loss of my Daddy. I had the flag over my army cot as a teenager and it bothered my Mother to see my head out at the end of my bed. Teenagers do that kind of stuff like that.

My Granny ended up having emphysema and diabetes from smoking too.

I helped take care of Granny and cook all the time for someone. As she would continue to grow older both of us did. She would re- live stories and tell me stories of things she would of like to of changed.

Granny  told more stories about the past and things she wanted things she still wanted to do and so interesting was the things she did in her lifetime that she experienced and the choices she had made.

The last thing she did before she left this earth was to call me.

Apologized to me because she sometimes would get jealous over the attention for me and the new baby that Mother would give us.

She told me how much she loved me and my new little baby she named the little Spookendyker which was an old fashion endearment and to come over and play cards with her as I lived next door and to come and talk.

I told her I know you love me Granny and I love you too. No worries all is well and as soon as I can get Christy to nap I will be over. She had hidden a cigarette by her bed somehow?

To this day we don't know how she got them?

She smoked it, as Mother was in the other room and as she was laying there waiting for me to come over.

Then she had trouble breathing even with the oxygen that was by her bed side .

911 was called by Mother.

It wasn't even 20 minutes later.

Remember time is precious.

As I was on my way comIng over and only to be met her with the ambulance taking Granny as we followed it with Mother and me and the baby.

That was sad day.

The good Part was knowing that Granny knew where she was going.

She loved GOD

She knew GOD loved her.

She knew she had bad habits but not to keep her out of heaven.

She had excepted JESUS with Oral Roberts on TV.

And many times at different churches.

Granny had  been baptized and she just lived her life as a free Spirit embracing life not traditionally like others would say or do this or that however, T V was and influence on some good things and some bad .

Her legacy was being kind to us as her grand children and being loving to us as well as others .

Her big hugs and her wet lips when she kissed us. We didn't care anymore at least we got a big kiss. We knew she loved us and would listen to us and play card and games with us.

Her stories of life and hope and choices that she said, to be careful when you make them .

You reap the consequences either bad or good.

She always had an encouraging word,

And loved to buy us toys that she was unable to give to her children because of what was called:

THE DEPRESSION. What's that ?

Pig asked?

It was when the banks didn't have money.

The stock brokerage's Collapsed and people didn't have the money they invested or saved was now all gone .

Not many jobs available and to work all day with not much money and food was hard to come by.

The phrase, Brother can you spare a dime ?

So you could buy a coffee.

Lots of lines of people would stand in food lines and job lines.

It was a hard time Pig for her and many that lived in that time too.

Through it all they made it through,

And when we were born as well as all my sisters and brother, she loved us all, that was for sure.

Children made life happy as well as happy for Mother.

Mother would say to us what's another bowl a beans and corn bread as long as we could all be together.

That wasn't always possible but she tried..

Mother loved us.

She and Grandmother devoted her life to us all in the best way they knew how.

Its Part two to continue this story.

But today, this is our story from Pig and me.

If Granny was here she would say to count our blessings.

Pig and I agree.
