EASTER as told by Pig

  • Apr 4
  • 9 min read

Good Morning,

Pig and I have talked all day.

We have Listen to THE WORD

on my phone and discussed the many things that Easter is.

We have had pancakes and strawberries and discussed the memories of Easter’s past .

The most important part of EASTER is that JESUS LIVES.

The stone that was placed there after JESUS was placed in the tomb was rolled away.

Pig Said Yes, HE HAS RISEN

HE IS ALIVE .

Pig replied , I want to read the story

So I said, Yes, Pig read what Easter really is.

Pig began reading in Luke 24:1

Pig said , JESUS Burial in the tomb found the stone rolled away .

And this is the part where they saw the Angels.

As Pig reads Luke 24:1

Her cute little voice begins reading:

24 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, [a]and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.

But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it happened, as they were [b]greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.

Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,

saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”

And they remembered His words.

Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.

10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles.

11 And their words seemed to them like [c]idle tales, and they did not believe them.

12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths [d]lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.

The Road to Emmaus

13 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was [e]seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.

17 And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you [f]walk and are sad?”

18 Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?”

19 And He said to them, “What things?”

So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23 When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.”

25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He [g]expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

The Disciples’ Eyes Opened

28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He [h]indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them.

30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.

32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35 And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was [i]known to them in the breaking of bread.

Jesus Appears to His Disciples

36 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 38 And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”

40 [j]When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” 42 So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish [k]and some honeycomb. 43 And He took it and ate in their presence.

The Scriptures Opened

44 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, [l]and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city [m]of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

The Ascension

50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple [n]praising and blessing God. [o]Amen.

Pig said, This is Easter .

I know we have had fun memories and fancy clothes or matching dresses for Church on Easter .

The service being peaceful and fun things to color for us as children.

It was a fun time.

The pleasant stories read that JESUS LIVES.

Forgives us of our Sins.

But we really didn’t understand ?

The message was given:

That GOD gave HIS SON

To give us eternal life and we now had the power even as children to receive HIS PRESENCE INTO OUR HEARTS and to be Christian’s .

To be Sons and daughters of THE MOST HIGH GOD.

To be able to invite other children to do the same to have a home in heaven someday and to be forgiven of all our Sins.

Past, Present and future.

However,

Our eyes as children were blinded by the chocolate Bunnies and all the fun with friends and family with

Easter egg hunts and baskets full of candy.

But some times as a child or an adult when you are listening and really reading about JESUS a miracle occurs.

Just like it did for my grandson.

Pig said, Please tell the story.

It was a long time ago, Crew was almost 4 years old and we had been invited to a book fair at the library

by my friend Bridgette.

If you read a lot of books there at the library you would win prizes .

All the children received something and motivated them all to read.

Bridgette was always finding fun things for her children Marlana and Luke to do and she invited us to come too.

So I brought My granddaughter Emma who knew how to read and Crew that wanted to know how to read.

Everyone went to their favorite areas and wrote down each book they read as Crew and I went to

The Christmas and Easter section.

Crew turned the pages and sounded out some of the words but mostly turned the pages as I read to him.

We got to the part of an Easter book where JESUS

was hanging on a cross.

Crew quickly put his little hand over the picture and said, That makes me cry.

I explained that JESUS loved us so much that was the only way to suffer and die for the sins in the world.

Your sin and my sin.

It was the only way to be forgiven and for HIM to live in your heart forever.

I asked Crew would you like JESUS to live in your heart and be forgiven and to be able live in heaven with HIM?

Crew said, Yes.

We bowed our heads

And Prayed a simple prayer

We love you JESUS.

Please forgive me of my Sins.

Come into my heart and live in there forever

Amen.

Crew felt relieved and wiped the tears from his cheek.

I quickly got his sister Emma and Bridgette and Marlana and Luke and we shared that he had just prayed to receive JESUS as HIS LORD and SAVIOR.

They huddled around him and was happy for him as it was time to receive the prizes for reading.

Crew was very much at peace .

His Parents were told and they were glad .

Crew requested yearly prayer with his Parents with stories read was said with Crew to make sure he was right with GOD.

So precious to LOVE GOD and realize the precious gift he gives each of us at any age.

To know the power of GOD even through a picture seen or by HIS name read or spoken.

GOD changed time BC and AD The even now the continuous year of OUR LORD.

HE changed the power that was given to the devil

Back to us .

To pray with power and authority in THE NAME OF JESUS.

Even though the Devil roams about to steal kill and destroy us.

John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We have a weapon that’s bigger

Just like you say.

Stop

Drop

And

Pray..

The power of Prayer in JESUS NAME.

Pig smiled .

In the book of Revelation it says they over came the enemy by THE NAME OF JESUS

THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

and by THEIR TESTIMONY.

Revelation 12:11

And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.

Pig asked, What is our testimony ?

When JESUS came into your heart and changed your life.

No one can take that from you.

You become a witness that GODS WORD IS TRUE.

When you pray and asked

JESUS into your life

You become the testimony of TRUTH.

Oh, Pig said.

I responded,

Then Pig learning about the one who loves you

And died for you and rose again is important

Daily food from HIS WORD.

Not just pancakes.

Pig smiled again.

As she listened.

I said,

THE POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD

IS THE BIBLE.

That’s the secret that gives us true joy and understanding of WHO GOD is..

Pig asked, I have accepted JESUS into my heart

I know I get to go to heaven and my sins are forgiven.

Can I still have candy and EASTER baskets and fun games to play and enjoy what JESUS did for me?

Yes Pig .

Rejoice Pig .

Give Thanks

Have FUN..

Share what JESUS has done for you when you can and ENJOY

THE DAY GOD HAS GIVEN YOU.

Happy EASTER everyone.

I can think of lots of Easter stories but my favorite is when JESUS came into my heart .

When I knew the true meaning of EASTER.

And now Pig and I have shared so you know too..

Our story for Easter and every day of your life.

From Pig and me
