What is St. Patrick’s day? Pig wants to know.

Good Morning

Pig is up this morning ready for pancakes and butter and syrup.

Pig asked, What is this

St. Patricks Day anyway?

I heard we are to wear green so we don’t get pinched at school or work .

Then eat corn beef and cabbage with carrots .

Drink green beer or Green something ? Candy?

Honoring the day of Day that St. Patrick died on March 17th.

What are we honoring or to remember ?

Wow , Pig

That’s a lot of questions.

Yes, those are just some of the customs .

However the story belongs 300 years after the death and resurrection of Christ.

In a town in England in a Catholic Chuch

That Maywhen attended and lived with his family a Bishop. ( as well other family members I don’t know )

They were privilege to serve the church.

Maywhen had shoes and clothes and food.

He was 16 or 17 years old to begin our story.

He was a teenager searching truth however

Angry and discouraged.

Maywhen would know what happens in the church the good and bad and he

Saw and heard what is said in the pulpit and was not always the real lifestyle at his home. ( kinda like today)

He was raised very strict and not much freedom.

So when you could get out side and play you did.

To feel free.

Be a teenager have fun.

Maywhen had a good friend and they went to play without there shoes or good clothes almost rags

Of no value not to get dirty to just have fun in to swim and play,

Like they always did.

Today was the day that would change both their lives forever.

The moment the big Pirate slave ship ran a shore.

They both saw them coming and started running away.

These pirates with ropes and nets and chains poured out of the ship and gathered all up they could see including his friend and himself.

With in minutes then loaded them in the bowels of the ship.

It happened so fast.

Now Casting off quickly and out to the open sea.

Gone with the town devastated of the loss of their loved ones.

Maywhen scared and confused wanting to be with his parents that just minutes earlier wanted to run away from them.

Now longed to be with them.

Now cold and in rags no shoes and in the bottom of the boat. Crying out to GOD. Curled up

Like a ball.

So many doing the same crying out but no answer was given .

Just needless blood shed not understanding their language or their questions and throwing some of them overboard.

Maywhen had never seen such barbaric behavior.

No mercy and no feeling.

Just wicked laughter.

The appearance of men with many pelts of animals sewed together. With metal hat and Big beards and long hair, cruelty and coldness was the look of the face and it was hard to look at them.

Not like a cartoon movie on BRAVE or how to train your dragon.

He stayed quiet as possible as even his friend was far from him calling to him unable to help him.

The torture and agony of separation of loved ones.

Pig interrupted.

This is a child story?

Yes Pig because

Pig, bad things happen in life that lessons need to be learned.

Parents can read over some parts so not so scary.

But the original Grims fairy tales didn’t leave out life lessons.

They thought

To teach and to protect and to guide the children.

So they could know truth and live in honor and truth.

Pig was quiet and listen to the story.

However she snuggled a little closer to be comforted.

Remember always to pray. GOD who made you will bring you through it.

Now,

When the ship hit the shores of Ireland they unloaded their cargo that were really people of all ages

To be bought and sold and used as slaves for there needs and worse but I will not say,

other than

They were idol worshippers and did sacrifices.

Horrible place to be.

But just like Jeremiah 29:11

GOD can turn all things around for good.

According to HIS riches and Glory.

The moment Maywhen stood before The Drued king

He changed Maywhen name instantly to PATRICK

And told him you would be a shepherder for him

And to go.

This begins Patricks life.

Cold wet and hungry he sought GOD day and night.

The words his Dad preached from THE BIBLE

flooded into his mind.

Patrick seem to remember every story every word that comforted him jut like

The words of comfort in Psalm 23.

As Time went by every night his prayer the same to go home.

Patrick never gave up in his heart.

GOD comforted him through the days of cold and rain and lack of food.

Patrick slept with the sheep and kept him warm guarded the lambs.

They were his friends his companions.

Patrick Prayed all the time.

Over six years he would learn the language and customs and he went teach the people about GOD

And who HE was by the use of the shamrock the three leaf.

HOLY SPIRIT

Patrick also shared how JESUS fed the 5,000

With two fish and 5 breads.

The townsmen said, We are hungry ask GOD

to show us food for us so we can believe.

Right then , Patrick prayed and a small herd of wild pigs got caught in the thicket .

The people rejoiced and did eat.

Patrick’s fame throughout began to be noticed.

Patrick loved the people and wanted to share GOD

With them but he wanted to go home.

One night in a dream GOD talked to Patrick and let him know he would go home soon.

To be prepared when he called him to get up without delay and run to the boat that is coming for him.

When Patrick woke up.

His heart in excitement but no dreams to say to go yet.

Weeks went by.

Patrick kept in prayer .

The LORD BEFORE ME

The LORD ABOVE ME

THE LORD BELOW ME AND ALL AROUND ME

THE LORD IS WITH ME.

One night as he was sleeping so deeply

GOD said to Patrick wake up . It is time to GO.

The ship is at the end of the island.

RUN ..

Patrick gathered himself and started running.

It was night he had no shoes and the same clothes of rags . Hanging on in his mind that the ship is there for him.

Patrick hid as he ran where he could not to be

seen . Everyone looking for him.

It is daytime now but hiding best he could .

He had too keep going day and night almost two hundred miles and then at last,

he saw the ship.

He still had to manage to get down the cliffs to get there.

Just as the little boat was leaving shore

Patrick waved his arms for him to stop.

He announced that his father was wealthy and would pay his passage and his name was Maywhen Succoth.

The man turned and said NO.

Then Patrick turned and look up to GOD and said out loud HELP ME.LORD.

The voice from the little boat said, OK come aboard but hurry.

Patrick was rescued now and will tell the crew of his adventures while they sail home but as they left the bay,Patrick in his heart knew

He would return someday.

Almost home.

The captain would drop him off 29 miles from his home. A quick walk home with such love and knowing

The Promises of GOD KEPT to him.

You can only imagine the rejoicing that day.

His Mother and Dad told him we never stopped praying .

Then

Patrick announced that wanted to go to seminary and did .

The church was reluctant to send him back to Ireland but they did.

Patrick knew the people and knew the customs.

He returned and faced the drued king and forgave him .

The men around him was surprised he hadn’t cut his head off yet.

Patrick said, That he had praying for his soul and to let him know the

GOD OF THE BIBLE IS REAL.

Say YES to JESUS and be SAVED .

Patrick said to the Drued King Pirate.

Pig, this is what is called the anointing of GOD.

You don’t go into an enemy camp unless GOD

IS WITH YOU AND SENT YOU.

This is when you are BOLD but humble

With angels about you .

The Dreud king listened and said GO.

As Patrick was leaving he told him that he would be building churches to share the love of GOD.

The Drued king grunted and that was enough.

Some of the Drued king military liked what was said and followed him.

They were instrumental to Patrick in building churches.

One night Patrick lit a fire on the hill called Tara to honor GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH AND ALL CREATION

THE LIVING GOD.

When The Drued KING saw it

He was furious because that was thier ritual to their

GODs.

Patrick didn’t know but he had created the war instantly

To all the clansman all over the island and they came

To fight.

They would kill Patrick by their magic and their GODS. Was there goal.

BUT GOD had other plans .

Patrick said by runners .

I take your challenge .

My GOD will prevail .

Bring on your magic and your fire.

With a great space between Them

Patrick went into a wood box like a wood shed no door

With a trench about it .

So more wood could be placed there.

They tried and tried and the fire and the magic and the screaming and the cutting themselves didn’t work .

PATRICK STILL ALIVE AND UNHARMED.

Then the few men that was on the side of Patrick protecting him.

Prayed with Patrick hoping this would work because if not they were dead too.

In the faith they had they PRAYED

ask GOD to consume all the enemies .

Giving the sign of the cross.

Amen.

Then Patrick spoke out loud over the crowd.

Asking GOD TO CONSUME THEM

To All fighting against

THE ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD.

Then

Everyone waited to see what was going to happen.

Is PATRICKS GOD COMING ?

Then a roaring sound came from heaven

then a

Fire from heaven came down and consumed

them ALL.

Amazement of GOD and HIS GLORY

THE ONES ON THE LORDS SIDE

PRAISED GOD.

There was a runner that went down to the Drued Kings camp.

And told them all that was said and done by

His clansman and Patrick and HIS GOD of

HEAVEN AND EARTH THE REAL LIVING GOD.

The runner to the Drued King as a last chance to know the real GOD.

The Drued KING said to the runner ,

Patrick’s GOD will have to do better than that.

Then walk into the fire and fell dead.

After that day more churches came up everywhere

There was still evil but smaller and smaller.

Patrick stayed in Ireland until his death on

March 17 th.

And was honored by the church as a Saint.

So it is St. Patrick is how is name is remembered.

Pig said that’s why we celebrate St Patrick’s day?

Yes. To honor a teenager that gave his entire life serving GOD and teach others to do the same.
